Taj Mahal in India

“I had not known what perfect proportions were”, wrote Eleanor Roosevelt, until she saw the Taj Mahal in India. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz who died in 1631 giving birth to their 14th child, this exquisite white marble tomb inlaid with gems in floral patterns is set in a lush garden. Louise’s tip: The Taj is best enjoyed at sunrise or sunset.
