Rail travel in India

India has the largest railway network in the world, operating almost 8,000 passenger services daily, and it is fun to join locals on one of these. At the top end of the market, the Rajdhani and Shatabdi super-express trains include the short Delhi-Agra journey. The remarkable new Konkan Railway line runs down the west coast from Mumbai to Mangalore.
