Golden Temple in India

The Golden Temple in India is the Sikhs’ most holy shrine. It is in Amritsar, in Punjab State, north-west of Delhi. Built by the 5th Sikh guru, Arjan Dev, Hari Mandir (Golden Temple) appears to float on its serene Amrit Sarovar (Pool of Nectar). A bridge leads across the lake to the Hari Mandir where the Sikh’s sacred text, the Guru Grant Sahib, is read aloud all day.
