Festivals in India

Festivals in India are friendly, colourful, noisy and take place all the time. Diwali, in the north, has great fireworks displays. Chennai, in the south, is unbeatable for its month of classical dance, song and music. A village festivals might process a deity, or celebrate a marriage. One of Louise’s favourite festivals is Pongol, South India's rice harvest celebration, when bullocks are painted all over and races run!
