Elephants in India

If you have sharp eyes you will spot elephants in India everywhere! They parade round temples in stone, cavort in the fine ‘ikat’ weaves, glisten from gold jewellery. In Hindu mythology, the elephant-headed Ganesh is god of learning and good fortune. Above all, elephants in India can be real – you can ride, stroke or help bath one, and even be blessed by one.
