Dance in India

Wherever you go you are sure to see dance, even if it is just a wedding procession or some Rajasthani folk dance. Serious dance in India is very sophisticated. Find courtly Kathak in the north. For religious classical dance there is Bharat Natyam in Tamil Nadu, Kathakali in Kerala and Odissi in Orissa, all performed for the gods. Star dancers demonstrate and perform in the halls of the big cities; just check the newspapers.
